1979 Jeremy Rogers built Contessa 43 cutter rigged. I have owned Ortac since 2014 being the 4th owner. She has undergone an extensive refit since buying her and has been a pleasure to own and sail, however due to a change in direction she is reluctantly for sale. Only a handful of these very sea kindly fast cruisers were built by the Lymington yard making her a truly eye catching boat and greatly admired at the marina standing out from the run of the mill production yachts. Great accommodation for a yacht of this age and pedigree. 2 heads, 2 main cabins as well as a large saloon and galley area.
Refit included:For sale is my Contessa 43. Ortac is a fast cruiser designed by Doug Peterson and built by Jeremy Rogers at Lymington. One of about a dozen boats built she is a very sea kindly boat and excellent to sail to windward. Jeremy Rogers raced one like her, Moonshine to take the Admirals Cup....back in the day, giving her a true pedigree. Ortac is a go anywhere yacht and was bought for more adventures than I have time for. Currently moored at Chatham, I have had the joy to own her for 6 years. Double vee birth in forward cabin with seat, hanging wardrobe and lockers, storage under berth. Aft cabin double berth and a single with ensuite heads new wc in 2014. Main saloon 2 berths with a third pilot berth. Galley with gimbled cooker and 2 ring gas hob, sink with H and C pumped water, also foot pumped cold water, fridge loads of storage lockers. Large nav station with chart table with storage under and chart holder. Fold down table with slide out glass and bottle holder, more lockers and storage space.

All lines run back to cockpit for short handed sailing. 2 self tailing 65 primary lewmar winches, 2 44 lewmar secondary winches. 2 lewmar self tailing winches for reefs and seldon kicker. Running back stays. Rutland wind generator. 3 batteries, 2 leisure and 1 start.
