The Westerly Discus, built in 1982 is a classic and reliable cruiser renowned for its sturdy build and seaworthiness with 6 berths in 3 cabins including the saloon. Accommodation :
This Westerly Discus offers a total of six berths across two cabins. The forward cabin features a double V-berth, complete with under-berth storage and side shelves. The cabin also includes a wardrobe to starboard. The forepeak also offers an opening deck hatch overhead for ventilation and natural light.
Located behind the forward cabin on the port side is the heads compartment, this consists of a single sink mounted in a vanity unit, pressurised hot and cold water with shower attachment, built-in shower tray, shower screen, a 2018 Jabsco marine toilet, and a mirror.
The saloon consists of a central table with folding leaves flanked by settees to both port and starboard with under-seat stowage, shelving and cupboards spread behind the seating area which is covered with blue Sunbrella upholstery.
Located on the starboard of the saloon a U shape galley features a single stainless-steel sink with pressurized hot and cold water, a Flavel Vanessa two-burner gas hob with oven and grill, two burner induction hob, a 2019 12-volt fridge, 240 Volt power, Coffee Machine, and ample storage space below the worktop.
This Westerly Discus benefits from a 205 Litre freshwater capacity, with hot water supplied by the engine calorifier with a 240v immersion element. An Eberspacher diesel heater that provides warm air heating ducted to all three cabins.
Located opposite the galley is a forward-facing navigation station, perfect for accommodating full-size charts with ample storage space for multiple charts. This area also houses the Standard Horizon VHF, battery monitors, a 12V socket and a radio/cd player.
Moving aft on the port side leads to the rear cabin, this passageway also includes a wet storage locker, and the wardrobe for the aft cabin. The rear cabin consists of a double berth to starboard and settee to port, with under berth, seat and shelve storage. This cabin benefits from opening portlights and a hatch allowing natural light and ventilation.
The companionway leads up to a large aft cockpit with bench seating surrounding the wheel steering colum with engine controls as well as other navigation aids such as a Contest Steering compass, Raymarine depth gauge, Speed log, windspeed indicator, and a Garmin Chartplotter. This cockpit also benefits from a large locker for mooring lines, fender storage, 240V isolator, galvanic isolator.

History & Construction
Built in 1982 by Westerly Marine Construction Ltd to a Laurent Giles design, the Westerly Discus has a white GRP hull and superstructure with non-slip deck surfaces. She benefits from a Bilge keel, wheel steering with a Spade rudder, two Kemp Alloy masts, a self-draining cockpit, teak toe rails, Stainless steel stanchions, and pulpit. She was last out of the water in 2023 when the hull was polished and anodes changed and re antifouled.
The current owners have enjoyed and maintained the vessel for the last twelve years and is looking to sell the vessel due to retiring from sailing.

This Westerly Discus has a Ketch, Masthead rig, with two deck stepped 1982 Kemp masts and booms with stainless steel standing rigging that was replaced in 2016.
This vessel is equipped with a Hood, furling headsail and a slab reef mainsail with lazy Jacks and a Main Mate stack pack. The running rigging was replaced in 2016, with all lines being led back to the cockpit.

Mechanical Systems:
This Westerley Discus has a single 38HP four-cylinder Nanni diesel engine, that was fitted in 2010, powering a shaft driven three bladed fixed propeller with rope cutter completing 1554 hours. The Nanni engine is supplied by a 159-litre capacity stainless steel fuel tank with Morse controls. This vessel was last serviced in 2023 by the owner with the Cutlass bearing replaced in 2018.
This yacht will achieve an approximate cruising speed of 5 knots and an approximate maximum speed of 7 knots.
