Crow is a shoal draft ketch with a centreboard, based on Phil Bolger’s Moccasin design and is rigged with a gaff. Length on deck 38ft. Length over Spars 50ft. Beam 10ft. Draft centreboard raised 2ft. Draft centreboard down 5ft 9ins. Included in her draft is a 10ins deep full length keel which contains nearly 3000lbs of lead located around her centre board slot. Albert strange sailing yacht ‘Cloud’. Cloud is a new build that requires finishing, constructed of Iroko planking on substantial laminated oak frames and timber floors, completely fastened with copper and bronze, an external ballast keel of lead, all though bolt with bronze bolts. "8ft Smack Yacht, bought as an open boat ,a "shell" from Portsmouth in 1985. The Testers Boatyard, Hollowshore, Kent, sold her on, as a restoration project to her present owner in 1986. Originally she was a twin masted Lugger, built circa 1895. It was decided that she would be re rigged to carry a Smack's Gaff Rig, have an engine installed, new rig, spars and sails, a deck and a simple coach roof over an open accommodation cabin. A prime example of these tough little GRP Gaff cutters. Joy has undergone a massive refit which has taken two and half years. Works carried out by Alan Staley Wooden Boatbuilder of Faversham, Kent. There's still a little way to go for her to be fully in Commission. She was purchased in a very poorly condition in 2020 as a Retirement project .
